His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama has emphasized the importance of discipline and professionalism in the Ghana Armed Forces, stating that these values are crucial in confronting security threats.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony of Ghana Armed Forces Cadets 2026, President Mahama urged the officers to uphold integrity, discipline, and professionalism to address security threats that could affect the country.

The President expressed the government’s commitment to addressing the grievances of the Armed Forces, including addressing gratuities and prioritizing retooling. He announced plans for a helicopter, a sports complex, and 10,000 housing units over the next five years.

He called on all Ghanaians to support efforts in addressing illegal mining issues and encouraged the armed forces to serve with professionalism, integrity, and respect.

In attendance were Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, Minister for the Interior, the Acting Defence Minister, Hon. Ato Forson, security officers, government officials, and a cross-section of the public.
