The Vice President of Ghana, Her Excellency Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has called for increased regional cooperation to address security challenges in West Africa.

Speaking at the High-Level Consultation Conference on Regional Cooperation and Security in Accra, she emphasized that issues like money laundering, terrorism financing, and arms proliferation require a collective response, as they transcend national borders.

The Vice President urged stakeholders to adopt a focused and coordinated approach to tackle these shared challenges, stressing that every West African country has a role to play in building a secure and prosperous future.

Ghana’s Interior Minister, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, who chaired the session, highlighted the need for tangible and economically significant cooperation that supports resilience and stability through practical integration.

The conference brought together ministers, security chiefs, and financial regulators to discuss strategies for fostering regional cooperation and addressing emerging security threats.
