The Ministry of the Interior on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 received two (2) operational vehicles on behalf of the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) from the United Kingdom Border Force in Accra.
The Assistant Director of the UK Border Force, Matt Buckingham who presented the keys of the vehicle to the Minister for the Interior. Mr. Ambrose Dery, indicated that the presentation was in confirmation of the UK Government to assist Ghana in its efforts towards fighting the drug menace. On his part, Mr. Ambrose Dery, expressed his appreciation to the UK Border Force for the generous donation.
He said with the opening of Ghana’s borders for 24 hours operations, it was imperative for more stringent and efficient approach to safe guarding our entry points and thus assured them that the vehicles would be put to its intended use.
The vehicles, valued at One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Dollars ($120,000.00) is expected to aid in the operations of the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) in its fight against illicit drugs in the country.
