A new office structure has been commissioned in Accra to house the Document Fraud and Expertise Centre (DFEC) of the Ghana Immigration Service. A pulling-out ceremony has been held  in honour of Dr. Albert Brown Gaisie, immediate past Chief Fire Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service at the GNFS Headquarters. The pull-out ceremony is a symbolic ceremony to signify the retirement of an Officer usually of Higher Ranking. Mr. Ambrose Dery, the Minister of the Interior on Friday said government together with the Prisons Council is looking at the non-custodial sentencing regime to focus more on the rehabilitation aspect of the Prisons. He said the prisons was a very important institute, which needed help to be able to provide good rehabilitation and skills training and development to inmates of the country’s prisons. Three hundred and ninety-eight Ghana National Fire Service recruits have passed out at the Fire Academy and Training School of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in Accra. The recruits, comprising of ninety nine fire women and two hundred and ninety-nine fire men had successfully completed the Recruit Course 48, which exposed the Senior High School, Technical/Vocational and City and Guilds school recruits to the rudiments of the fire-fighting profession.
