Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, Minister for the Interior,, has assured security personnel under the Ministry that government remains fully committed to their welfare and operational needs.

Speaking at an interaction with the security services at the Ho Technical University auditorium as part of his working visit to the Volta Region, Hon. Muntaka said the sacrifices of security officers in maintaining national peace cannot be overstated.

“Security personnel play a critical role in ensuring peace and stability in this country. Your welfare is equally important so you can continue the hard work of keeping our nation safe,” he stated. “You should not be worried, Government prioritizes you.”

The Minister outlined several interventions government is pursuing, including the mechanization of rent allowances with salaries, improved office accommodation, provision of logistics and vehicles and promotions, among others.

He also gave his word that all concerns raised by the personnel during the engagement would be reviewed and addressed.

In a separate meeting with non-security agencies under the Ministry, Hon. Muntaka commended them for their contributions to public service delivery and pledged his commitment to resolving their challenges to ensure efficiency.

Concluding his Volta Region tour, the Interior Minister expressed gratitude to the Volta Regional Minister, Regional Commanders and their officers for their support throughout the visit.

The stakeholder engagements, aimed at promoting peace, social cohesion, and addressing security concerns, form part of Hon. Muntaka’s strategy since assuming office to build broad-based collaboration for peacebuilding across the country.
