“Paying wrong with wrong is not a solution. You cannot take the law into your hands, if you do, the law will catch up with you. So please, expectations yes, but let us, as northerners, not create the impression that any time there is news about us from the north, it is for the wrong reason. It is for violence. It is killing. Let it be for the right reason”
These were uttered by the Minister for the Interior, Mr. Ambrose Dery when he visited the Agbogbloshie Market in Accra today, Wednesday, April 12, 2017.
The visit was to ascertain the situation on the ground and also to interact with the factions involved in the bloody clash that happened on Tuesday, April, 11, 2017, leading to the death of two persons and several others injured.
According to Mr. Ambrose Dery, the issue would be treated with all the seriousness it requires and has therefore urged the leaders to avail themselves to the Inspector General of Police and give whatever evidence they have to assist the Police Service in their investigation.
The Minister was accompanied by the Defense Minister, Dominic Nitiwul, the National Security Minister, Kan Dapaah, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Ishmael Ashitey and the IGP, David Asante- Apeatu
He also appealed to them to keep calm and desist from any reprisal attacks.
