The Minister for Interior, Mr. Ambrose Dery (MP) has urged Zimbabwean Business men and women to take advantage of the One District, One Factory Initiative of President Akufo-Addo and come and invest, particularly in the agriculture sector.

The Minister made the call when the Zimbabwe High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E. Mrs. P.T Musaka paid a courtesy call on him at his office on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 According to the Minister, government is committed to ensuring a favourable environment for the private sector to thrive so that jobs can be created for the citizenry.

He stressed that, poverty and unemployment can threaten the security of a country thus the need for Ghana and Zimbabwe to collaborate more especially in the field of agriculture through knowledge sharing for the mutual benefits of both countries. “Zimbabwe’s agriculture expertise is great and we are opened to exchange expertise with Zimbabwe in this area. We must go forward to do many more things together than we are already doing” he said.

The Minister reiterated the Ministry and for that matter government’s commitment to providing security for all citizenry without fear or favour. Mr. Ambrose Dery commended the Zimbabwean community for abiding by Ghanaian rules and also indicated how honourable it was to have the President of Zimbabwe, H.E Robert Mugabe attend Ghana’s 60th Independence Anniversary because of the special relationship that exist between Ghana and Zimbabwe.

The High Commissioner was there to congratulate him on his appointment as Interior Minister and also follow up on the visit of H.E President Robert Mugabe to Ghana to discuss the strengthening of bilateral relationship between the two countries further. She was accompanied Mr. Eddison Sitole, Deputy Ambassador and Nyasha Evermay Mutuwa.
