The Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has called on the Muslim Community in Ho, Volta Region, to exercise restraint and use established channels to resolve issues surrounding the appointment and installation of an Imam for the Ho Central Mosque.

Speaking during a meeting with a delegation of Chiefs, Elders, and Imams from the Muslim Community in his office in Accra, Hon. Muntaka emphasized that Islam is a peaceful religion and urged all parties to prioritize peace and use appropriate channels to address their grievances.

The meeting was prompted by the closure of the Ho Central Mosque due to a dispute over the Imam’s appointment. The Minister assured the delegation that authorities would investigate the matter and provide a resolution, urging patience and respect among all parties involved.

The Leader of the delegation, Mr. Mohammed Adams Ijor-nda, Wulensi Saha Naa I, thanked the Minister for his attention and assured him that the community would not engage in actions that could jeopardize the country’s peace, awaiting a resolution from the authorities.
