The Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has handed over twenty (20) Nissan Navara pickup vehicles to the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) to enhance its operational efficiency and mobility across the country.

In his remarks, the Minister stated that the vehicles were intended to aid the Service in the effective discharge of its duties, particularly in enhancing mobility and operational response. He emphasised the need for accountability in the use of the vehicles and urged officers to ensure they are used strictly for official purposes.

Hon. Muntaka reaffirmed Government’s commitment to strengthening the capacity of the security agencies in line with the President’s vision for enhanced national security.

He commended the GIS for its dedication and hard work and encouraged officers to continue to uphold professionalism in the performance of their responsibilities.

Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the Service, the Comptroller-General, Mr Samuel Basintale Amadu, noted that the provision of the vehicles is a clear demonstration of the President’s commitment to equipping the security agencies, adding that the vehicles attests to the fulfilment of the President’s pledge to resource the Immigration Service to effectively carry out its mandate.

He assured the Minister that the vehicles would be deployed responsibly and properly maintained to support border patrols and other operational duties.
