At a short ceremony at the National Police Headquarters in Accra, the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak has decorated 19 newly promoted Police Officers who have been elevated from Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) to Commissioner of Police (COP) and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP).
In his remarks, the Minister congratulated the officers on their promotions, acknowledging the challenges they face and the importance of their work. He expressed the President’s appreciation for their dedication and service, emphasizing that the promotions serve as motivation for officers to deliver their best.
The Minister tasked the IGP to look into promotions in the Service and ensure that delayed promotions and deserving officers are recognized and rewarded.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno stated that the promotions of the Officers will serve as a morale booster to them and the Service as a whole.
Mr. Tetteh Yohuno noted that the presence of the Minister underscored the President’s appreciation, sacrifices and commitment to the welfare of officers who often work under challenging conditions.
