Accra, April 28, 2026 – Following an attack by unknown assailants on a military patrol team in Binduri, Upper East Region, the Ministry of the Interior has, with immediate effect, restricted the use of motorbikes by all persons in Binduri Township and its environs.

In view of the security situation, the restriction is a necessary measure to maintain law and order, protect lives and properties and support ongoing security operations in the area.

Government urges Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, the Youth and all residents of Binduri and surrounding communities to exercise restraint and remain calm. Citizens are encouraged to use peaceful and lawful channels to address grievances and to support efforts to restore lasting peace.

Any person who contravenes this directive will be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

The Ministry of the Interior remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
