At the dispersal ceremony to officially end the rescue mission of the collapse of the Experimental School at Accra Newtown, the Deputy Minister for the Interior, Hon. Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, called on Ghanaians to adhere to safety warnings and report unsafe structures to the appropriate authorities.

Hon. Terlabi’s visit was also to assess the extent of damage, oversee ongoing operations, and commiserate with affected families following reports of fatalities and survivors trapped under the rubble.

Speaking at the scene, the Deputy Minister expressed concern over the incident, which has so far claimed at least three lives, with several others rescued. He noted that emergency response teams has been working tirelessly to rescue victims, including the successful rescue of a family of five from the debris.

He also renewed calls for stricter enforcement of building regulations and urged residents to report unapproved construction activities to the appropriate authorities to avert future disasters.
