His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama has commissioned the National Signals Bureau’s Volta Regional Command in Ho, emphasizing that security is the foundation of development and intelligence is the backbone of security.
The President noted that the government will continue to strengthen intelligence and security in the country to drive national development, citing the importance of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity in modern security frameworks.
He stated that the expansion of the National Signals Bureau across the country is crucial for national surveillance and protecting digital and cyber space.
The new Command in Ho will serve as the central hub for intelligence and security coordination in the Volta Region, equipped with advanced technology and integrated with regional and national surveillance systems.
Interior Minister Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak commended the government’s commitment to enhancing national security, announcing that four new regional commands will be operational by the end of the year.
The President also attended the 2025 National Farmers Day celebration in Ho, accompanied by Minister for the Interior and some Ministers.
