A Philanthropist, Mr. Storms Menri from the British Royal Army has donated several firefighting equipment to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in Accra.
The equipment includes foam drums, foam pick up tools, delivery hose, rescue and fire-fighting jackets, fire helmets, back plates, face masks, hydraulic power packs and BA cylinders among others.
Deputy Minister for the Interior, Hon. Naana Eyiah, who received the donation on behalf of the GNFS, expressed appreciation to Mr. Menri for the support and implored individuals and corporate bodies to augment Government’s efforts of retooling the GNFS.
She indicated that plans are far advanced to procure quick intervention vehicles for the Service which will assist them in delivering on their mandate.
The Deputy Minister therefore urged all to heed to the fire precautionary messages being propagated by the GNFS for a fire-free country.
