The Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has assured the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) that Government is working to address the Service’s logistical and equipment challenges, urging the personnel to continue giving their utmost in safeguarding lives and properties.

He made this call during the Passing Out Parade of Recruit Course 55 at the Fire Academy and Training School in James Town, Accra.

The Minister noted that fire safety can no longer be treated as a matter of choice or distant concern, citing recent fire outbreaks in markets that have raised serious questions about collective preparedness and commitment to safety.

He commended the GNFS for recording a 2.3 percent decrease in fire incidents in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.

Hon. Muntaka congratulated newly graduated Fire Officers and urged them to serve with patriotism, dignity, discipline, and commitment.

He also urged them to remain true to their noble calling, shun any conduct that may tarnish the image of the Service, and strive to uphold and elevate the name of the Ghana National Fire Service.
