Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, Minister for the Interior, has commissioned the Upper West Regional Police Headquarters in Wa, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between the police and the public to ensure peace and security in the region.
In his speech, Hon. Muntaka highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening the police service, citing investments in logistics, mobility, communication tools, and infrastructure. He urged the police to be better managers of resources, emphasizing the need for accountability and efficiency.
The Minister also called on traditional leaders, chiefs, and community members to support the police, stating that security is a shared responsibility. He emphasized the importance of community intelligence, conflict resolution, and youth guidance in maintaining peace and stability in the region.
Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak commended the police officers for their dedication and bravery, urging the public to support and respect them. He emphasized that a police service that is embraced by its people becomes more confident, responsive, and effective.
The Upper West Regional Minister, Hon. Charles Lwanga Puozuing, called for peace and security in the region so that businesses can thrive. He urged the police officers to maintain the facility and ensure that it serves its purpose.
The commissioning of the Regional Police Headquarters marks a significant milestone in the government’s efforts to enhance security in the Upper West Region. The facility will improve rapid response, crime management, and coordination among security agencies, bringing policing closer to the people.
