A five-member delegation, led by Ms. Millicent Mutuli, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Director for West and Central Africa paid a courtesy call on the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Ambrose Dery at his office in Accra.

Her visit to Ghana is to familiarise herself with the situation of Burkinabes crossing into Ghana to seek asylum.Ms. Millicent Mutuli thanked Ghana for the kind cooperation with UNHCR in refugees’ management.

The Minister assured UNHCR of Government’s continued support and said ‘we have a duty to protect our borders and protect those who come in as well’.
Hon. Ambrose Dery thanked Ms. Millicent Mutuli for the visit and described UNHCR as a credible partner. He wished her a successful visit to Ghana.
