The Honourable Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has charged the newly sworn-in Entity Tender Committee of the Ministry to uphold the principles of transparency, accountability and value for money in public procurement.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony, the Minister emphasised the critical role of the Committee in ensuring compliance with the Public Procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663) as amended. He urged the members to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, independence of thought, and utmost integrity.
Hon. Muntaka highlighted the importance of transparency and accountability in public procurement, compliance with the Public Procurement Act and its regulations, eliminating waste and preventing corruption and delivering value to the Ghanaian people.
The Minister expressed confidence in the Committee’s ability to rise to the occasion and become a benchmark for the public sector in procurement management. He assured the Committee of the Ministry’s support and resources to enable them to perform their duties effectively.
He congratulated the newly sworn-in members and charged them to uphold the sacred trust and discharge their mandate with distinction, contributing to building a Ministry and a Ghana that is efficient, transparent, and worthy of its citizens’ confidence.
The Chairman of the Committee, who is also the Deputy Minister for the Interior, Hon. Ebenezer O. Terlabi, thanked the Minister for the swearing in and assured that the Committee will work hard and discharge its duties as expected.
