The Senior Project Manager of HALO Trust – Coastal West Africa, Madam Yamireth D’Almeida, has led a delegation to pay a courtesy call on the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, at the Ministry in Accra.The visit was to formally introduce HALO Trust and its operations in Ghana to the Minister.
Madam D’Almeida assured Hon. Muntaka of the organisation’s commitment to collaborate with and support the National Commission on Small Arms and Light Weapons in tackling the proliferation of illicit arms.
Receiving the delegation, Hon. Muntaka expressed appreciation for the visit and HALO Trust’s willingness to partner with government. He emphasised that strengthening the Small Arms Commission would boost its capacity and operations, ultimately helping to reduce illicit arms in circulation.
“Building strong partnerships is key to securing our communities and keeping illegal weapons out of the wrong hands,” the Minister stated.
HALO Trust is a humanitarian NGO that specialises in clearing landmines and managing weapons and ammunition globally.
