As part of measures to address and improve security, the Chief and people of Ejua have constructed a one-story Police Divisional Headquarters with 18 offices, conference room and other facilities at Ejura in the Ashanti Region.

Commissioning the Police Divisional Headquarters , the Hon. Minister for the Interior, Ambrose Dery noted that the goal of the Government to make each resident in Ghana feel safe is on course with unprecedented
recruitment of security personnel and provision of
equipment to security services.

He said that the edifice is part of Government’s Security infrastructure and urged the people of Ejura to woork hard and support the police and other security services to effectively combat crime in the community because the establishment of a Divisional Police in the Municipality alone cannot reduce crime without their support.

He noted that security is a collective responsibility and all should play their roles to help fight crime in the country.

The Minister urged the Police Officers to be professional in the discharge of their duties and not to intimidate the people but should interact with them and help make the slogan “Police is your friend” meaningful.

Hon. Ambrose Dery congratulated Barima Osei Hwedie II, Ejurahene and Nananom for their role in the construction of the Police Headquarters which is being inaugurated through their vision, thoughtfulness and sacrifce for the general good of the people Ejura.

He thanked private individuals, corporate institutions and foreign friends of Ejura for their contributions.

On his part, the Ejurahene noted that Ejura in recent times witnessed some disturbances and at the time, police personel were not adequate which resulted in a shooting incident at Ejura in 2021.

He expressed joy that with the support of Government, measures have been put in place and now Ejura is peaceful because security has improved.
