The United Arab Emirates (UAE), led by H.E. Rashid Al Shamsi, Executive Director of Operations at UAE Aid, has donated relief items worth $1 million to the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) to support persons affected by the recent floods in the country.

The items, which include mattresses, bed sheets, water and other essential supplies, were received on behalf of the government by the Hon. Deputy Minister for the Interior, Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi.

Speaking at the presentation, Hon. Terlabi expressed the government’s appreciation to the UAE for the timely gesture.

He noted that disasters often place enormous pressure on affected persons and on government, since they are unforeseen. He further expressed the hope that the items would go a long way to bring relief to those affected.

The Deputy Minister assured that the items would be distributed fairly to all those in need.
