The Deputy Minister for the Interior, Hon. Naana Eyiah    urged the newly recruited Fire Officers to be  humble and learn from their seniors to gather experience and deliver quality service for the country.

She said the young officers should make good use of any opportunity and upgrade themselves in line with their chosen profession so as to improve their knowledge in order to discharge their duties professionally and save lives and properties.

Hon. Naana Eyiah was speaking at the graduation ceremony of the Recruit Course 53D at the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) Academy and Training School in Accra.

The Hon. Deputy Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to retooling the Ghana National Fire Service in spite of the current economic situation because GNFS renders important services to the country. She appealed to the general public to use adjustable burglar-proof security doors which are capable of serving both security and safety needs to prevent a “burn to ashes” situation.

She commended the Chief Fire Officer for his good work and efforts toward achieving the mandate of the Service even in the face of limited resources and the ever-challenging dynamics of Fire management.

Awards were given to some of the young Officers who performed extremely good in academics and physical training. She congratulated them for the good work done and wished them the best in their career.
