The Minister for Interior, Hon. He made these remarks at a press conference held today (Thursday) in Accra. The facts as presented by the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. David Asante-Apeatu indicated that the 13 escaped from lawful prison custody during an invasion of the court premises by a section of the public believed to be their sympathizers after they have been remanded by the Judge of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly Circuit Court, Her Highness Mary Nsenkyire on Thursday to reappear on 20th April, 2017. The Minister unequivocally condemned the incident and reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring that the culprits are rearrested and brought to face the due process of the law. “No one is above the law” he stressed.
